The role here was to choose a dinosaur I found interesting and draw it. I really wanted to show the Allosaurus from different angles to give a few different looks at what the dinosaur looked like.
I looked around for different poses and looks of the Allosaurus, trying to find different looks of the dinosaur.
Using Photoshop, I roughly sketched out a lot of different poses for the Allosaurus. I tried to get a lot of different angles, trying to find the best way to show the dinosaur.
I chose my top 3 sketches out of all the roughs I did and created more detailed, cleaner sketches.
I used a clean black line to clean up the sketches. I used different thicknesses of the lines to help show more detail and difference in the parts of the Allosaurus.
I filled the dinosaurs with a solid gray and considered where my light source would be coming from.
I added shadows and highlights. I played around with different color schemes.
I picked a few aspects from each color scheme and combined them to create a pattern and look that fit the Allosaurus best.
