Working with a photographer, I created a series of ads for Vans, showing off their unique and fun style.
Working with photographer Hanna Calkins, we created photographs that highlight some pairs of Vans shoes. Using accessories and other elements, we built scenes that mainly focused on the shoes while adding elements that made sense and worked with them.
I then took the darker photos, made them just a bit darker, and cropped them down to a smaller size. Then, I took the brighter photos of the shoes, cropped them out, and overlayed them on top of the darker background. I did this because I wanted the darker grungy feel on the background while being able to draw attention to the shoes and keep them bright and colorful.
I added the Vans logo and a caption to each poster.
I included crop marks as well.
And placed them out in a final layout and included Hanna's name.
